Add an Advanced Flashcard System

As a medical student, I strongly need a modern and well-integrated flashcard system for studying and memorizing medical terminology and lecture content.

Please consider adding a dedicated flashcard feature with the following capabilities:

1. Create flashcards directly from lecture content

There should be a dedicated flashcard pen or selection tool. When the user selects a word, sentence, or important piece of text using this tool, the app should automatically create a flashcard from the selected content.

The flashcard should preserve the original text and its source, including the lecture and preferably the exact location where it was selected.

2. Automatic translation

When a word or term is added to a flashcard, the app should automatically provide a high-quality translation into the user's default language, with the ability to change or customize the source and target languages later.

For medical terminology, the translation should preferably use accurate medical terminology rather than a basic literal translation.

3. Automatic examples

The system should be able to add an example automatically. The example could come from:

- The original lecture or document

- An example found in the surrounding text

- A reliable external source

- AI-generated content

The user should also be able to create their own example manually.

A useful feature would be an "example connection" tool: the user could select a word and then select a sentence from the document, and connect them with an arrow to tell the system that the sentence is an example of that word or term.

4. Pronunciation

Flashcards should include a pronunciation feature for individual words and terms.

The pronunciation audio could be retrieved from reliable online sources such as Google or specialized pronunciation resources such as YouGlish. For medical terminology, the system should preferably prioritize reliable medical pronunciation sources when available.

The pronunciation should be for the selected word or term itself, rather than reading the entire sentence.

5. Flashcard library on the home page

There should be a dedicated Flashcards section on the main page where users can access all of their cards.

Cards should be organized into decks or folders, and each deck should be linked to the lecture or document from which the cards were created.

For example, when opening a specific lecture, the user should be able to access all flashcards associated with that lecture directly from the lecture.

6. Modern and smooth flashcard interface

The flashcard interface should be modern, simple, fast, and easy to use.

Users should be able to customize cards, edit their content, add or remove translations and examples, add notes, and change the card structure when needed.

7. Spaced repetition and intelligent review

Please include a modern spaced-repetition system that automatically schedules cards based on the user's performance.

The system should consider whether the user remembered or forgot a card and adjust the next review date accordingly.

It would also be useful to provide different review modes, such as normal flashcards, quick review, difficult cards, and cards due today.

8. Organization and sorting

Users should be able to organize and sort flashcards by different criteria, such as:

- Lecture or folder

- Date created

- Date selected from the document

- Importance

- Difficulty

- Review status

- Recently reviewed

- Cards that need review

Users should also be able to add custom tags and search through their flashcards.

9. Preserve the connection to the original content

Each flashcard should remain connected to its original location in the lecture or document.

Ideally, tapping the source of a flashcard should take the user directly to the relevant location in the original lecture.

This would make flashcards much more useful for medical students because they can quickly return to the original context when they need more explanation.

10. Manual control

Although many parts of the process can be automated, the user should always have full control.

Users should be able to edit, delete, move, duplicate, merge, or manually create cards without relying on AI.

The system should also allow users to turn individual automatic features on or off, such as automatic translation, examples, pronunciation, or AI assistance.

Overall, the goal is to create a flashcard system that is deeply integrated with the note-taking and lecture system rather than being a separate flashcard app. This would allow users to turn important information from their lectures into organized, reviewable flashcards with minimal effort while still giving them full control over the final cards.
