I absolutely love Notewise, but I recently lost a massive chunk of my notes due to an unexpected device wipe. Since that day, I’ve developed "backup anxiety."

Right now, as a Notewise Unlimited user, having to manually export notebooks every single day is an annoying chore. We desperately need an automated "set and forget" Google Drive backup.

Right now, Notewise offers its own proprietary cloud subscription, which is great for syncing across devices. But a proprietary cloud and an external backup are two completely different things. Here is why adding native Google Drive integration is essential for everyone in this community:

  • Manual Hassle vs. Peace of Mind: Forgetting to manually export a file shouldn't cost us weeks of hard work. An automatic background sync to Google Drive means we can sleep soundly knowing our data is always safe.

  • A Lifesaver (For Everyone): Nobody thinks they need an auto-backup feature until their device glitches, gets stolen, or undergoes a sudden reset. This function will eventually save your academic or professional life, especially when you least expect to need it.

  • An Industry Standard: Let’s be real, many competing note-taking apps already offer native Google Drive backup out of the box. It’s the one crucial missing piece keeping Notewise back.

    I don't understand why Google should be used. There is a cloud in the app that you can use that does exactly what you list. For example is your data is also safe if a device goes missing. I understand that Google is of course the free or the cheaper option, but the cloud is Notewise's business model. If the cloud were free or bypassable, this would mean that the app would either be completely fee-based or many other features that are still free would be chargeable.

      The current business model seems driven by AI usage rather than cloud storage. Regardless, iCloud and Google Drive backups are industry standard for note-taking apps. The current plans offer far too little storage; they should at least introduce a backup-only tier without AI that includes at least 5GB.
