Please consider several improvements to the storage and data management system.
1. Add a smaller storage plan, such as 25 GB.
Not every user needs 100 GB of storage, but some users may need more than 20 GB. A 25 GB plan would provide a more affordable option for users who need additional storage without requiring them to subscribe to a much larger plan.
2. Improve synchronization speed.
Synchronization can sometimes be extremely slow, even when the user's internet connection is fast and reliable. For example, I have a 300 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload fiber connection, and I am using a powerful device such as the HONOR MagicPad 2.
Please optimize the synchronization process so that upload and download speeds make better use of the available internet connection.
3. Keep a local copy of files and their folder structure on the device.
Files should not exist only in the cloud. The app should ideally maintain a local copy of the user's files on the device, including their folder structure and organization.
This would provide an additional layer of protection if the subscription expires, so users do not immediately lose access to their data.
4. Extend the data retention period after subscription expiration.
Please consider increasing the current data deletion period from two weeks to at least one month. Users may temporarily experience financial difficulties and may not be able to renew their subscription immediately. Losing important data after only two weeks can be extremely stressful and discouraging.
5. Make cloud restoration easier after the retention period.
If a user subscribes again after a longer period, such as two months or more, there should ideally be an easy way to restore or re-upload their locally stored files and folder structure to the cloud.
6. Fix how the Recycle Bin affects storage usage.
There also appears to be an issue where files in the Recycle Bin continue to count toward the user's storage quota. This makes the deletion process less useful because deleting a file does not actually free up storage space until the Recycle Bin is permanently emptied.
Please consider either excluding files in the Recycle Bin from the user's active storage quota or making it very clear that they still count toward the quota until permanently deleted. Ideally, deleting a file should free the corresponding cloud storage space, while the Recycle Bin could have a separate retention system.
These improvements would make the storage system more flexible, reliable, and user-friendly, while also reducing the risk of users losing important data.
