I would love to see a real-time handwriting beautification feature in Notewise.
The idea is not to convert handwriting into normal typed text, but to keep the note handwritten while automatically refining the user’s strokes into a cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing handwriting style.
For example, when writing quickly with a stylus, Notewise could recognize a word or short phrase and subtly beautify it a moment after it is written. The result would stay in the same position, size, color, and general layout, but the letters would become cleaner, more consistent, and easier to read.
This would be especially useful for students and people who take a lot of handwritten notes. Right now, there is often a trade-off between writing quickly and making notes look neat. If I write fast enough to keep up with a lecture or my thoughts, my handwriting naturally becomes messier. If I try to make every word look good, note-taking becomes much slower.
Real-time handwriting beautification could solve this without taking away the natural feeling of writing by hand.
It would be great if the feature included:
- Several handwriting styles to choose from, such as clean print, rounded handwriting, minimal handwriting, or cursive.
- Real-time or near-real-time beautification after finishing a word or sentence.
- Adjustable beautification intensity, from subtle correction to a much cleaner result.
- Preservation of the original handwriting size, position, color, spacing, and note structure.
- The ability to turn the feature on or off at any time.
- An option to beautify existing handwriting using the Lasso tool.
- The ability to undo the beautification and restore the original handwriting.
- Potentially, a personalized mode that learns the user’s own handwriting and creates a cleaner version of their personal style instead of replacing it with a generic one.
I think this could become a very distinctive feature for Notewise because it would combine the freedom and speed of handwriting with the visual consistency of fonts, without forcing users to switch to typed text.
For me personally, this would be one of the most useful additions to a handwriting-focused note-taking app and could strongly influence which app I use as my main note-taking tool long-term.
